I just spent five extraordinary days at the Amsterdam International Film Festival 2018 with directors, filmmakers, scriptwriters, actors, and distributors from around the world.

The festival itself was founded by Carl Tooney to give independent film and script authors an opportunity to showcase their work, network with peers and submit themselves in competition for international filmmaker awards.

The festival is held in different locations around the world including London, Nice, Madrid, Milan and Amsterdam. It is a place where you can “seize the day” as you immerse yourself in the experience of watching films and documentaries across many genres and styles. It is a place where you can also meet amazing people, forge great friendships, find people to collaborate with on future projects and if lucky be nominated for an award and walk away with a trophy.

The phrase Carpe Diem was first used by the Roman poet Horace to express the idea that one should enjoy life while one can. This is the attitude that my client and co-creator of Living My Illusion Documentary Series Joel Van der Molen and me had throughout the festival.

In between films and every evening we got to know many film directors, scriptwriters, and the entire team behind this festival including Ray Davies, the co-founder of Film Industry Network, a platform designed to share film advice.

As someone who loves to know people, I took the opportunity to interview few of the film directors, music writers, and the marketing director of the festival Steve Grossmith, who kindly shared a lot of useful tips that every attendee of the festival could benefit.

In an age where domestic violence, addictions, loneliness, and depression is on the increase, Living My Illusion E1 – The Truth Hurts was co-created to shine a light on the toxic effects of suppressing your inner truth has on your mental, emotional, familial, physical, business, and financial health. The feedback we got from the festival goers was encouraging, humbling, and inspiring.

The Q & A that followed after the screening of our documentary was a testament to the importance of creating this timely documentary. It offers a mirror from which millions of people who find themselves in difficult situations can self-reflect and address the lies they tell themselves and the impact they have on their leadership style, family life, and the way they show up in the world. Little did we know that we would walk away with a trophy, be acknowledged in front of hundreds of amazing film directors from around the world and be selected as one of the winners.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Carl and his team for organising such a wonderful event, to Adam Tinnion, Dan Hickford, Roy Abbots, Chelsey Baker, Mark Doree, Brad Blain, Neil McEwan, Paul Eyres, everyone who has supported us on this life-changing journey, all the people who attended this event and the judges who selected Living My Illusion – The Truth Hurts as the Winner in the Best Story Category of this prestigious Film Maker Award.

As someone who has helped thousands of people achieve a quantum leap in their personal, professional and business growth, I know that to be successful in business and every area in your life, it is essential for you to learn how to seize the day no matter what you do in life.

To help you unlock the opportunities that are presented to you in every moment in your life, I would like to share these three principles I teach my clients that you can use every day to help you take your business to the next level

Principle One: It’s not all about you

One of the problems I noticed in many of the filmmakers, scriptwriters and the great people I met at this event is that every time they engaged in a conversation with one another their focus was on them, their film, their work, and not on the person they were having a dialogue with. This way of communicating not only closes the doors that potentially your film may have created about you but also unintentionally you are creating the wrong image about you in other people’s mind. What you could do instead is to learn to communicate in a way that awakens the curiosity in others. After all, we all have a kid inside of us.

Principle Two: Give before you take

When engaging in a dialogue with an attitude of what I can get from you, the person you may be speaking to knows this. This way of speaking to people not only makes them disengaged, bored, and uninterested, but it also makes you look extremely egotistical. Instead, you can adopt an attitude of what I can help this person with. For instance, I noticed how Steve, the marketing director of the festival was interviewing so many people, but no one thought of interviewing him. I kindly asked him if he would like to be interviewed and share his wisdom with the hundreds of thousands of my facebook followers, some of whom happen to be in the film and documentary making industry. One of the great advice Steve shared with my audience is to “treat others as you would like to be treated.” It is what I refer as “A Winning Attitude” in my four times International #1 Amazon Best-selling Book A Path to Wisdom.

Principle Three: Know how to pitch

Many of the filmmakers and screenwriters I met consider themselves as artists and found it difficult to pitch their films. Whether you are a filmmaker, scriptwriter, distributor, event organiser, or a business owner, never underestimate the power of knowing how to pitch correctly. I see many people going to amazing events such as this one and walk away feeling disappointed, resentful and not getting what they want. Having successfully secured millions of pounds in business by using the power of the pitch, I started to teach all of my clients how to create a powerful pitch. Learning how to deliver a good pitch can close or open many doors, especially if you are a filmmaker seeking a distribution partner or an investor.

Remember, no matter where you are, whom you are with, and whatever you may find yourself doing you can train your awareness to be of service to others and seize the day.

Drinking good fresh made green juice that my very dear friend Farhan kindly brought over for me last night and listening to my heart’s calling as I write this message to you.

The first hints of Spring fill the air. The sun is shining, the trees are smiling, and the parks are filling with color. As I look from the window I see a pigeon resting on a tree branch, enjoying the warmth of the sun, and despite the occasional wind blowing, it remaining its perfect balance, calmness, and stillness. As if the pigeon was there just for me, observing me, keeping me company, and reminding me of the importance of silence and the tranquillity I get each morning when I meditate.

And this new season brings with it gifts, blessings and opportunities… but, don’t be fooled, they do not just come to you because of some Universal Law, anything you are experiencing is a result of your own making. You are a creator of your life, imagine who would you be if you knew this wisdom at a very young age, you were empowered, inspired, and nurtured to remain in your flow.

In my thinking, we’re on the beginning of this year. Just a few months left to go before the summer, this is a great opportunity to re-asses, rethink, and re-plan your lives.

It is what I did in the last three days with the world renowned human behavioural specialist Dr John Demartini. Having spent last 25 years taking my life from living on the streets, working in cafes, bars, restaurants, retail shops, to building a very successful IT career and then becoming an Elite Life Coach, Best Selling Author and a heart centred Entrepreneur, I know what it takes to become a Global inspired teacher that John is.

Elite Life Coaching for Inspired Living.,

This past week I have been following Invictus Games the new international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women.

It may not have quite caught the imagination of the nation the way the Paralympics did but it has been the scene of some heroic endeavour and brought out heavyweight pop and rock names for a good cause.

You may be asking yourself, what can an entrepreneur learn from this amazing sporting event? Well, frankly, quite a lot… With Prince Harry as its patron, the Invictus Games pitched into existence through collaboration, a lot of hard work, and being persistent.

Prince Harry’s speech at the closing ceremony moved and inspired every participant, viewer and anyone who was watching from home. For sure it moved me, in many ways.

With so many challenges throughout my life, I learned how to be Invictus, fearless and commit to my entrepreneurial journey. My dad always told me: “Tony, you can cut back on other things, but never on your education. Always fill your life with books.”

Like many people I grew up with, I strived to be great, but working with so many coaches, teachers, healers my appetite grew bigger and started to aspire to an even higher standard…

…to become the best coach and world renown healer, speaker and Author there ever was.

Watching the Invictus Games was another reminder of how important is to play the real game, to be yourself, and to believe in the dream you are creating.

The TJS Evolutionary Method: The ALARM is a valuable tool that I now use with my clients and take them through some of my most advanced thinking on this point and walk them through the mental model I’ve created to sustain people’s motivation, discover their true life purpose and greatness through a 5 step Method.

1. Start with your mindset. You may have heard this many times now, but your performance in the world is simply the result of the things you believe. If you really don’t think you’re the kind of person who produces epic results or becomes uber-fit or creates a financial fortune or elevates entire communities, then you’re just not going to do what it takes to make these visions real…

…Try it for yourself, change your private story about your potential and your behaviour changes by itself. Each section of my book helps you begin within. Always, it is the reflection of our inner world that we observe in our outer reality.

2. Know your Limits and Clear out your constraints. So many of us want to sustain our Invictus Entrepreneurial Spirit over an entire career versus being one hit wonders. But, instead we fill our lives with so many energy drains and constraints that we never create greatness that endures.

My encouragement: identify what and who drains your energy, delete the energy vampires from your life, clean out all complexity, build a team around you that frees you to fly, remove anything toxic and cherish simplicity. Because that’s where genius lives.  

3. Surround yourself with the best. The more you associate yourself with successful people, the more you start to be smart and talented. So get this simple truth, the calibre of your associations determines the level of your success… I grew up in Macedonia, there is an old saying: tell me who your friends are I will know who you are..

…some intelligent research has been done on the drivers of exceptional performance. Recently I attending the Trust Conference founded by Roger Hamilton and Michelle Clark and did Talent Dynamics Profile Assessment. Being a Star Profile it gave me the clarity on the kind of team and people I need to surround myself to be my best.

…in other words, associating with others aiming to become world-class lifts up–and sustains–your Invictus Entrepreneurial Spirit. To make the final months of this year the single best months in the history of your entire life, you absolutely must commit to having conversations–and building alliances–with people who are a few levels above you.

In April i launched my first book “A Path to Wisdom-How to live a balanced, healthy and peaceful life.” Since then, not only changes peoples’ lives around the world, but also it has inspired many Entrepreneurs to achieve highest level of success, wealth, decency and be of service to our world.

I have spoken at various events, travelled to many countries to work with private clients and helped many entrepreneurs with their businesses.
